Why A Drug Detox Needs To Be Well Managed To Avoid Problems

Base the diet on a solid intake of fresh vegetables and fruit, and a moderate intake of complete proteins. These foods will provide valuable nutrients, and the fruit juices will flush toxins out of the body even without a formal detox program being instigated.

A detox therapy for drug users needs to be tailored to the individual, and the program creator needs to be aware of the possible withdrawal symptoms, which will just add to the symptoms caused by a detox program. There will inevitably be some degree of difficulty felt by the sufferer, so it is important to be prepared for that. Also, it is much better if it can be arranged to have a friend or family member in attendance for support.

In the case of hydrocodone detox, for example, the symptoms are very similar to the symptoms for a general detox, only much intensified. It is critical that no attempt is made to use artificial drugs to try to relieve these symptoms, as this will completely inhibit the effect of the detox program. The first three days are the worst for side effects of a drug detox.
